My Opinions On Breeders

My opinions on breeders are not that great. I believe that people should adopt and not "shop" for animals. My thought is that if you adopt an animal you are saving that animals life, because if that shelter is a no-kill shelter that's great they won't get killed, but they are still living more of their life in a kennel. On the other hand if you have a killing shelter near you most likely those dogs and cats that someone could have been adopting will be put on death row and be killed. Also have you ever thought about what the mother cats and dogs go through? Some breeders only use a mom dog once to breed but most of the time they are used more than once and they have little to no time to rest before their next litter of pups. Another problem with buying animals is pet stores. Most pet stores get their dogs from animal mills where no animal is treated well. The pet store closest to me actually is very good with the animals and I am proud of that store because they take only cats from the animal shelter and show them off so they have a better chance of getting adopted. My dad saw a cat at the pet store while looking for fish food and ended up adopting him. His name is chuck and he drinks out of the toilet. :)
